INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT - ANTANANARIVO
Arrival with the international flight. Welcome and transfer to the hotel. Registration.
EAST & WEST & SOUTH
20 days to combine the rainforests of the East with the dry forest of the West and the savannah of the South. Lemurs, baobabs, landscapes. Only discoveries...
DAY 2
: ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE
Road to the eastern part of the island. Stop at Madagascar Exotic Park to see the different kinds of chameleons, frogs and geckos. Lunch en route. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival. Later, night walk to observe nocturnal lemurs, reptiles and amphibians.
DAY 3
ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK
In the morning, drive to Mantadia National Park for about an hour and start hiking in the primary forest, looking for the largest species of sifaka (Propithecus diadema), crested lemurs and other wildlife. Picnic lunch and visit of the lemur island and the reptile farm in the afternoon.
DAY 4
ANDASIBE - MANAMBATO - ANKANIN'NY NOFY
Morning visit of the reserve of Perinet to see more species of lemurs (Indri indri), birds, reptiles. After the visit, road to Manambato then transfer by motor boat to Ankanin'ny nofy. At the arrival, check-in. Later in the evening, walk to see Aye-aye, a nocturnal lemur.
DAY 5
ANKANIN’NY NOFY
Day of visit of the reserve of Palmarium, discovery of the endemic plant "Nephentes", lemurs and another species of fauna. Free afternoon.
DAY 6
ANKANIN’NY NOFY – MANAMBATO – ANTANARARIVO
In the morning, transfer by boat to Manambato then, meeting with the driver. Return to Antananarivo. Lunch en route. Arrival in the late afternoon. Arrival in the late afternoon.
DAY 7
ANTANANARIVO – ANTSIRABE
In the morning, drive to Antsirabe. Stop at Ambatolampy and visit the aluminum and pot workshop. Lunch and continuation to the destination.
DAY 8
ANTSIRABE – MORONDAVA
After breakfast, 8 hours drive to Morondava. A few stops along the way to see the landscape from a different angle. Lunch en route. Passage by villages of gold diggers and large rivers. Arrival in the late afternoon.
DAY 9
MORONDAVA – KIRINDY
In the morning, drive to Kirindy, about 2 hours and a half, passing by the baobab alley and the sacred baobab. On arrival, check in and visit of the reserve, to observe 2 species of diurnal lemurs, birds, mammals and reptiles, and the flora (and precious woods, medicinal plants). After the visit, return to the lodge for lunch. If you are lucky, you can see the famous "fosa". Later, take a night walk in search of nocturnal lemurs, nocturnal reptiles. It is the largest carnivore of Madagascar.
DAY 10
KIRINDY – MORONDAVA
Back to Morondava, visit of the baobab in love then sunset in the baobab alley. Then, return to Morondava. Arrival. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 11
MORONDAVA-ANTSIRABE
Return to Antsirabe, passing by big rivers. Lunch at Miandrivazo, then continuation to destination. At the arrival, check-in. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 12
ANTSIRABE – RANOMAFANA
Road to Ranomafana. Small stop in Ambositra. There are stores and craft workshops originally brought by the Zafimaniry, a small group living in the mountains east of Ambositra. Arts, totems, and many other sculptures in rosewood, ebony..... Arrival in the afternoon, check-in. Later, you will go for a night walk to observe the fauna (chameleons, frogs, lemurs) for about 1h30.
DAY 13
RANOMAFANA NATIONAL PARK
Full day exploration of Ranomafana National Park, hiking in the park with our local guide to see some species of day lemurs, reptiles, birds and various plants. Observe the "Milne Edwards' sifaka" or the rare "golden bamboo lemur" ... At noon, return to the hotel for lunch. Later, return to the forest in search of other wild animals in the circuit of Vohiparara.
DAY 14
RANOMAFANA – RANOHIRA
After breakfast, drive to Ranohira. Stop in the reserve of Anja to observe the ring-tailed lemur. Then passage by Ihosy and then the plateau of Horombe which extends as far as the eye can see. It is the biggest plateau of the island and the place of residence of the herds of zebus of the Bara. Arrival at Ranohira in the late afternoon, check-in.
DAY 15
RANOHIRA
A day to discover the national park of Isalo. Isalo is composed of a sandstone massif and various natural pools and waterfalls, a forest with species of lemurs such as the Maki, the Sifaka and the Fulvus. Picnic lunch in the park. After the visit, road towards the window of Isalo which is located at 12 km in the western part of the park for a beautiful sunset.
DAY 16
RANOHIRA – IFATY
In the morning, drive to Ifaty via Tulear where we will have lunch, continue by car to Ifaty for one hour in the afternoon. Visit of the Reniala reserve which is mainly composed of thorny forests, baobabs and succulents with strong endemism and which shelters some birds, reptiles. Upon arrival, installation at the hotel and free afternoon.
DAY 17
IFATY
Free day in Ifaty, possibility of activities proposed by the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 18
IFATY – TOLIARA – ANTANANARIVO
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to take the return flight to Antananarivo. Meeting at the arrival and road towards the lake Tsarasaotra to observe some birds. After the visit, drive to the hotel. Check-in on arrival.
DAY 19
ANTANANARIVO
Visit of the Ambohimanga palace to learn more about the history of Merina and to have an overview of the capital. In the afternoon, visit the artisanal market to buy some souvenirs.
DAY 20
ANTANANARIVO – INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Transfer to the airport to take the international flight according to the flight schedule. End of the programme.
